Past ILACP President and Retired Chief George Graves Receives 2025 Russell B. Laine Lifetime Achievement Award

We are thrilled to announce that Retired Chief and ILACP Past President George Graves is the recipient of the 2025 Russell B. Laine Lifetime Achievement Award.
This prestigious recognition highlights George's unwavering dedication, exemplary leadership, and countless contributions to the community and the law enforcement profession for 66 years. He has been an active member of the ILACP since 1966, serving as president in 1975. To this day, he still shows up and contributes to the overall success of the association. He is instrumental in the ILACP's success.

Chief Graves is a constant professional, always striving for continuous improvements in the law enforcement profession, attends every meeting and conference, and serves on several ILACP committees. Chief Graves is always willing to share his knowledge, insight, and experience with others for the benefit of the association.
A past ILACP president and ongoing mentor, Graves’s enduring contributions include leadership roles in multiple agencies, co-founding the Suburban Law Enforcement Academy, and helping organize ILACP’s 75th anniversary gala. Additionally, he is still a strong advocate for the law enforcement profession and is actively involved in legislative issues such as the recent Social Security Fairness Act change. His legacy continues to inspire future generations of public safety professionals.
George’s commitment to service and excellence has truly made a lasting impact, and we couldn’t be prouder of his achievements.
