ILACP Foundation ProjectsTraffic Safety ProgramsThe foundation enjoys three grants through the Illinois Department of Transportation to promote traffic safety in Illinois. One major, popular event is the Illinois Traffic Safety Challenge, which culminates with an awards luncheon in August every year during the Midwest Security & Police Conference and Expo. Local departments receive awards for their work in traffic safety. Line of Duty Death Assistance to Police DepartmentsWhen an Illinois law enforcement officer dies in the line of duty, the association's Funeral Assistance Team is prepared to offer help immediately to the local agency planning an appropriate funeral. The foundation raises funds to support the Funeral Assistance Team. Donations to the Funeral Assistance Team can be addressed to the ILACP Foundation, 426 S. 5th Street, Springfield, Illinois 62703. We Never Walk AloneThe Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police Foundation has entered into a partnership with the We Never Walk Alone program. We will be working together to raise funds for a First Responders Wellness Initiative, which may include services in part by We Never Walk Alone.
